Oh! How we long for for the days of revelation, when God spoke through his faithful servants!

Back in the day it was really simple. God whispered secrets in the prophets' ears, and everyone know what to do, right? Wrong!

Happy nine days to you all.

  6. Yeah man, today people think that in the past "daat torah" was clearer. In the meantime it's amost certain that people had no idea which of the prophets to believe (the "real" ones or the "fake" ones). Only with hindsight do we suppose we'd follow the real ones. The real ones were the ones advocating against making very reasonable traties with neighboring powers (Egypt) to prevent almost certain defeat from northern powers (Assyria).

    ...ANYway..

  7. Shriki: Well after the wars were over and they got around to writing Nach it was real easy to tell which were true and which weren't. Makes you wonder about the episodes that didn't make into Nach...
