ReplyDeleteYeah man, today people think that in the past "daat torah" was clearer. In the meantime it's amost certain that people had no idea which of the prophets to believe (the "real" ones or the "fake" ones). Only with hindsight do we suppose we'd follow the real ones. The real ones were the ones advocating against making very reasonable traties with neighboring powers (Egypt) to prevent almost certain defeat from northern powers (Assyria).
