$$$$$
Money really makes a difference in people's lives. All the guys in my apartment are pretty much unemployed. And we sit around all day and talk about how poor we are and how impossible it is to find work. Then when something fun comes up, we obsess about how much money it'll cost. WTF? Can't we just enjoy life? If we could each have work for only a few hours a day, we'd have enough money to do whatever we want and not obsess about bloody money all day.

Whatever happened to being a taxi driver?
ReplyDeleteI kratzed and kratzed and then the summer ended.
ReplyDeleteYour life sounds so sad.
ReplyDeleteBuy a lottery ticket together. Then you all have a chance.
Or better yet: get a job. Then you are sure to make money.
how many guys do you live with? how are you all unemployed? this is nuts!
ReplyDeleteCheerio: I just had a vision of you storming into their apt and telling them to get off their lazy asses and find jobs.
ReplyDeleteWho pays the rent.
ReplyDeleteP.S: Sounds familiar. Except that I work, I just am not getting paid.
There should be a ? in there somewhere.
ReplyDeletealtie: wonderful advice. ty
ReplyDeleteCheerio: at the moment there are four guys in the apt. One works but barely gets paid. Two others are in the country on student visas and can only work off the books (and off Kingston Ave., so that the guy who's giving them their visas won't know that they're working). Both have temporary, low-paying jobs now. And then there's yours truly, who needs a job that won't interfere with school.
Thank you very much, but we don't need Cheerio storming in here and telling us to get off our asses.
C: Everyone has his own cheshbon with the landlord, so everyone pays his share of the rent.
one of the illegal aliens was working on the computer now and earning money, and I needed to kick him off to respond to all the nasty comments we were getting.
ReplyDeleteyou asked for it.
ReplyDeletee., do you really see me doing that? i would never.
ReplyDeletegently encourage, yes. storm and yell? no, no...
