Stupid cancer survivors rule!
Stupid cancer, survivors rule!

Meh.
ReplyDeleteof course puncuation matters:
ReplyDelete"yashka is the lord, read the bible"
"yashka is the Lord? read the bible"
I thought of that when I read a bumpersticker which had no punctuation.
Eats shoot and leaves!! Classic. My grandmother, AH used to tell that one. Tis a great joke :).
ReplyDeleteYour grandmother sounds like a woman after my own heart.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites, from "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves":
ReplyDeleteThose dirty things are my brother's.
Those dirty things are my brothers.
I like that one as well.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother was a funny chap. Maybe one day I'll do a post on her humor. Maybe.
@mottel
ReplyDeleteMeh? Is that the best you can come up with. Y'know, on this blog you can subscribe without leaving a comment.
Meh. Not just Meh (stam - un di nekudah)
ReplyDeleteMy point is to stress the transitory nature of punctuation. Like the cement that holds the stones together, punctuation is what gives shape to the stones of letters . . . Taking them from the state of letters of thought to actual ideas.
So I repeat.
Meh.
please.
ReplyDeleteYes, I never quite learned grammar. I tend to make it up as I go along...
ReplyDeleteC: your grandmother was a chap?!
ReplyDeleteTechnically, it's:
ReplyDeleteStupid Cancer! Survivors Rule!

Matthew, it's an honor to have an expert on this here humble blog.
ReplyDeleteIf you were addressing the cancer, then you'd say, "Stupid cancer, survivors rule!"
If you want to comment on cancer's intellectual capabilities AND assert the greatness of survivors, then your way is correct.
e. I believe Matthew is associated with the Tweet that inspired your post v'dal
ReplyDeleteTRS: Technically, not. But she was a tomboy as a kid...
ReplyDeleteas were we all?
ReplyDeletenot the males among us.
ReplyDeletethat "we" was obviously referring to a female "we".
ReplyDeletealso i still have to read "Eats, Shoots, And Leaves". anyone want to lend it to me?
